• a marketing tool. When you put your home on the market, it becomes a product, and just like any product, it has features and benefits and there are other products to compete with. To gain an edge in your market, you must be priced right and look better than the competition.
• a time to let go: Homeowners must let go of the property emotionally and make changes that will market it to appeal to the broadest range of buyers possible.
• simplifying the decor to make the house look larger, brighter, cleaner, warmer and more welcoming than the competition. Staging creates a mood, an emotional response that has a buyer thinking: “I love how this house feels. I can see myself living here. I want to buy it!”
